Year 10 Enrichment at Sussex University

Overview

The day will comprise a carousel of Workshops:

  • Maths in Alice's Wonderland –  Reflections, insights and puzzles led by Jeff Trim from MEI
  • Fun Maths Roadshow - Problem solving activity with the PGCE students from Sussex University
  • Maths MagicIntriguing hands-on experiments that make you think wow! then ask the question, how? led by Derek Couzens

Laurence O'Toole from Royal Holloway University will conclude the day with his ever popular, interactive key note presentation on Cryptography, where students will be challenged with the opportunity to break codes.

Who will benefit from attending?

Year 10 students who have the potential to study Core Mathematics, Mathematics or Further Mathematics at A level. They will be given the opportunity to engage in a variety of workshops and lectures, to promote the further study of mathematics and give insight into maths beyond GCSE in a fun and exciting way.
