  • This one day course will provide teachers of AS and A level Mathematics with some effective ideas for teaching the main Statistics topics in AS Mathematics

Who will benefit from attending?

Teachers who are new to teaching Statistics or need extra ideas for teaching the new specification

10.00 Interpreting real data using technology
This will include exploration of the large data sets for all specifications


11.00 Using the large data set to teach statistical content
This session will look at ways to use the large data sets to teach some of the statistical content in the AS specifications

12.15 lunch

13.15 Modelling with the binomial distribution
This session will introduce the binomial distribution as a model for data

14.15 Introducing hypothesis testing
This session will introduce the language and process of hypothesis testing for situations which can be modelled with the binomial distribution

15.30 Evaluation and close
